The UK will not use Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty this year, which sets out the rules for leaving the European Union.

Government lawyer Jason Koppel stated this in the High Court, BBC reports.
This effectively means that Britain does not intend to formally leave the EU this year.
Earlier, Brexit Minister David Davis expressed the opinion that the UK was likely to formally leave the EU in December 2018.
