Militant Tornado jailed for life for killing patrolmen in Dnepropetrovsk
The Kirovsky District Court of Dnepropetrovsk sentenced former Tornado militant Alexander Pugachev to life imprisonment with confiscation of property for the murder of two patrol police officers, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The corresponding decision was made on April 8, said National Police Speaker Jaroslav Trakalo.
“The court fully satisfied the demands of the prosecution,” he said.
In addition, Pugachev must compensate 3 million hryvnia for moral compensation to the mother of the deceased patrolman Olga Makarenko and 26 thousand hryvnia to the Dnieper patrol police department for damage to property.
Let us remind you that on September 25, 2016, in Dnepr, patrol officers stopped a car that passed a prohibiting traffic light. The offender opened fire, as a result of which two patrolmen were injured: policeman Artem Kutushev died on the spot, his colleague Olga Makarenko died from her injuries in the hospital.
On the same day, law enforcement officers detained a suspect, who turned out to be a former militant of the notorious Tornado special forces company of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, formed from former criminals, Alexander Pugachev.
He was charged under articles 262, 263, 348 15 of 115 and part 2 of article 115 of the Criminal Code.
Tornado, a militant, was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of patrol officers in Dnipropetrovsk.
