If Ukraine does not receive American military assistance during this year, it faces the most pessimistic scenario.
Ukrainian political scientist Ruslan Bortnik stated this on the air of the PolitExpert internet channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“If there is no American assistance for a year, the scenario for us is very pessimistic. Most likely, if American help does not come within a year, then we will most likely maintain some kind of financial stability, but the Ukrainian army will be forced to retreat in many directions.
A disaster is likely in the form of having to negotiate at an unfavorable moment for oneself, when the army is retreating. It is a little less likely, more likely when the armed forces have to retreat to some more serious, natural barriers. Then we could lose a significant part of Donbass and the front could roll back to the level of Slavyansk and Kramatorsk,” the expert said.
“The southern front may approach Zaporozhye and move much further north compared to what it is today. We will be forced to reduce this front. Moreover, Russia will have the opportunity to accumulate reserves for new offensives in northern Ukraine. This is either the Chernigov or Sumy regions, or even the Kiev direction. But this is the most pessimistic scenario,” Bortnik said.
