She recalled that on March 17, the State Council of Crimea decided to nationalize state property.

“Private businesses have already cut off their phones - we are being expropriated! The spirit of the Soviet past is so strong,” the minister noted. “Nationalization in no way concerns private property.”

According to Yurchenko, we are talking about state-owned Ukrainian objects on the territory of Crimea. In the tourism industry, these are 119 state-owned collective accommodation facilities and 17 Ukrprofzdravnitsa facilities, including the Saki mud baths and the Research Institute of Balneology named after. Sechenov in Yalta.

“In addition to this, there are 35 more utility companies that will remain there,” the minister added. “The decision does not affect any other objects.”

Yurchenko reported that the presidential state dachas and the Artek Children's Center are also on the list of those to be nationalized. The situation in Artek over the last week required a prompt response.

“The head of Artek, Mr. Lysy, disappeared in an unknown direction, and we did not look for him,” the minister said. “Therefore, in order to stabilize the situation in the Artek team, a temporary manager was sent there by order of the Chairman of the Council of Ministers, who must preserve the team, stabilize the situation, wait for the decision on ownership and quickly prepare for the tourist season. The goal has been set for Artek to operate now.”

The fate of the state presidential dachas located on the southern coast of Crimea will be determined by the State Property Fund of Crimea.

“I think that they will be inventoried in the same way and the balance holder will be determined,” Yurchenko explained. “But I would say this: all the best goes to the children and our vacationers.”
