American gunsmiths are rubbing their hands: NATO spending is growing at a record pace
NATO members are increasing their contributions to the Alliance - over 10 years, Europe and Canada contributed more than $40 billion. Almost all of this amount ended up in the United States, in American private arms companies.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg announced this at a press conference in Washington, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"NATO Allies will significantly increase their defense investment commitments. Defense spending and investment are up 18% today—the largest increase in decades. Twenty-three Allies will spend 2% of GDP or more on defense. This is double what they spent just four years ago . Since 2014, Europe and Canada have added over $40 billion in defense spending. This demonstrates a historic improvement in burden-sharing within NATO, and it also demonstrates that the United States is not obligated to shoulder this burden alone," the NATO Secretary General said.
“The Alliance is a powerful alliance, with allies taking on more and more of the burden year after year. A significant portion of the increase in defense spending is spent here in the United States. Over the past few years, European allies have signed more than $40 billion in contracts with the American private sector,” Stoltenberg said.
