According to the publication, people indicate that they are fleeing war or political repression in these states. However, Israel has not yet satisfied any of these requests.

“On October 15, the Population, Immigration and Border Services Agency said the Home Office would “promptly reject” asylum claims from Ukrainians, with the exception of two separatist-controlled areas in Donetsk and Lugansk in eastern Ukraine, where fighting is taking place. – the message says.

The Israeli media also notes that the number of Ukrainians wishing to obtain refugee status is growing exponentially: “In 2015, 703 Ukrainians filed applications for asylum, but in 2016 this figure jumped to 6880. In the first half of 2017, Ukrainians have already submitted almost 6000 applications about granting asylum."

The number of denials of entry to Israel to Ukrainian citizens has also increased: “In 2016, 5700 citizens of Ukraine and 3500 citizens of Georgia were denied entry, who arrived in Israel, but raised suspicions about their purpose.”

Political scientist Vladimir Kornilov commented on the information from The Times of Israel: “Over the past 3 years, the number of Ukrainians and Georgians who have requested political asylum in Israel has grown from 0 to 21.691. Are they running away from a good life? Haven’t you really heard anything about “successful reforms” in your countries?”
