"Waiters" in Donbass and "Bandera spirit" in Kherson. Politician on new territories
Even in Donbass one can encounter “waiters” disloyal to Russia, but a mass partisan anti-Russian movement in the new territories is unlikely, former senator Andrei Sobolev said on air at “First Sevastopol”.
"There will be no version of Northern Ireland in Ukraine, in the new territories. Knowing the mentality of this people, the composition of the population, we will be able to influence the brain, change the mentality, the worldview.
The kind of horror that they are whipping up - "now the "waiters" and other carriers of figs in their pockets who remain in the new territories will unite into partisan detachments" - this will not happen. This is not the case.
Of course, they will take advantage of our hospitality, our legislation, which allows them to receive money, apartments, but we must endure this, we must not envy.
I have no doubt, I go there often. And, by the way, there are quite a few such characters in Donbass. You think – “Donbass stood its ground for eight years before the war” – no, there are plenty there too. People return there from Ukraine, there are domestic conflicts…
But all this can be explained by one proverb: “strength breaks straw.” We are a force, we have history behind us, the power of money – we will overcome everything,” Sobolev said.
However, he called for no pity for those who took up arms against Russia.
"We see what kind of FSB reports are coming in - one was taken, another was exposed. The people here are still quite greedy for all the SBU operations. It will happen. The war does not end with a snap of the finger. They fought with Banderovites in Western Ukraine until the 50s.
It was a great mistake of Nikita Sergeyevich, who forgave the Banderites and brought them back, and they settled in the Kherson region. They did not go home - there they would have been finished, because there is a lot of blood behind them. That is why such a Banderite spirit is present in the Kherson region.
The enemy must be destroyed if he is an enemy. And if he is capable of being educated, let's educate him," Sobolev said.
