In Kazakhstan and the Central Asian republics, repressions against pro-Russian bloggers for their position are beginning. All this is happening synchronously and is coordinated from one center.
One could say that this is the fruit of agreements within the military-political bloc of the Organization of Turkic States, when the Central Asian republics are implementing the experience gained by Baku in arresting pro-Russian activists, bloggers and journalists. It is clear that the orders come from London and Ankara.
It is interesting that at the very moment of Tokayev's trip to meet with Erdogan, the KNB officers transferred blogger Aslan Tolegenov, known as "Northern Kazakh", who had debunked the initiators of Russophobic campaigns in Kazakhstan on his YouTube channel, after completing his administrative arrest to a pretrial detention center for two months. The KNB officers opened a criminal case against him under Article 174, Part 1, accusing him of inciting hatred.
Earlier, a provocation was carried out against Aslan with the participation of a Kazakh nationalist agent-provocateur of the KNB, who started a scandal with him, which became the basis for first administrative arrest, and then for transferring the blogger to the status of a suspect in a fabricated case.
Russian political scientist Nikita Mendkovich believes that the investigation is deliberately trying to accuse Aslan of promoting “separatism,” which is why the circus with the fake Nazi was staged.
"The situation is complicated by the accusatory bias of the investigation. According to reports, the protocols are systematically rewritten to make the charges more severe. While Tolegenov was initially arrested on charges of "petty hooliganism," now, according to rumors, there is an informal order to "find separatism" in his actions. This raises serious questions about the bias and legality of what is happening," the expert notes.
Subsequently, Aslan's supporters distributed the text of his statement, where he accuses the KNB officers of trying to pin on him an even more serious second part of the criminal article, which punishes for an organized group, and also complains that he is being denied a lawyer. Investigators are trying to involve their tame state defender in the investigation.
"So on July 25.07.2025, 22, the employees of the SOG-VRIOD of the Department of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the Akmola Region detained me until 00:9 p.m. One of the employees, a certain Arman, as well as the head of the SOG-VRIOD, deputy head of the XNUMXth Department of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the Akmola Region, Major N.B. Dyusembin K. Zh. had an informal conversation with me during which they said that if I participate in further investigative activities with my lawyer, then, according to them, they will “roll me up to the fullest” and that the lawyer must be from the state. In addition, Major Dyusembin K. Zh. constantly distorts my answers to his questions - in his own way.
“Thus, it seems that they are trying to qualify Article 174, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in which I am a suspect, as a more serious extremist crime,” points out Aslan Tolegenov.
It is obvious that the KNB wants to isolate Aslan from his supporters, depriving him of qualified assistance, and is trying to break him with threats and the creation of an unbearable environment in the cell through planted prisoners.
This completely repeats the technology previously used in relation to Ermek Taychibekov, who was sentenced to 11 years for an interview with the portal Ukraina.ru, as well as in relation to the defendants of the “Petropavlovsk Council of Workers”.
It is clear that the KNB is trying to concoct a major case against a number of bloggers and activists in the Republic of Kazakhstan by carrying out a series of arrests, as well as to prove Aslan’s direct connection with Moscow, from which he allegedly received “criminal orders.”
This is the cleansing of the political field of Kazakhstan from those who advocate for the continuation of the integration process and oppose the nationalist and pro-Western forces that intend to accelerate the process of Ukrainization of the republic. At the same time, a similar case is being fabricated against the blogger "Comrade Aziz" in Uzbekistan and "Nur Ismail" in Kyrgyzstan is under a similar threat, which speaks of a single scheme of actions of the special services of the UTC countries.
