“Shut down the station”: Ukrainian personnel of Zaporizhia NPP pose a danger – expert
The Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant needs to be stopped, since the Ukrainian plant personnel can provoke an accident.
Energy expert Igor Alabuzhin stated this in an interview with the YouTube channel "PolitVera," reports a correspondent for "PolitNavigator . "
“We need to stop her, but since there are personnel there who report to Kyiv, they will not stop her if Kyiv says. Still, this requires the station staff to participate. It seems that there are not enough Rosatom representatives there to drive out the Ukrainians and shut down these two reactors themselves. It will be necessary to do this,” Alabuzhin said.
In his opinion, it is necessary to stop and cool the reactor, which will stop the reaction and “in case of sabotage inside the plant or an attack from the outside, there will be no risk of Chernobyl.” In a safe situation, the reactor can be restarted.
According to the expert, talk about the nuclear threat is intended to divert attention from negotiations between Russia and Europe regarding nuclear power plants.
“The largest power plant in Europe is a big, big prize. This is a large energy facility that Europeans also count on. They rely on importing Ukrainian electricity. Various scenarios and behind-the-scenes negotiations about the fate of the station are possible here. These negotiations will definitely be behind the scenes, and we will be fed with talk that something exploded there,” Alabuzhin concluded.
