Everything is more serious than during the Cuban missile crisis - Starikov
The visit of Russian warships to Cuba is a worrying signal for the West, retired SBU colonel and military expert Oleg Starikov stated in a video blog broadcast by journalist Alexander Shelest, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Starikov, Russia directly makes messages to European countries that do not have enough forces to confront the Russian Federation.

"Someone says about the Cuban coast: 'Don't pay attention.' Then a Canadian frigate comes in next, then an American submarine comes nearby, so they don't pay attention, and then suddenly, they're already moving. And that's 600-800 kilometers away; hypersonic missiles can reach it. The situation now is much more serious than the Cuban Missile Crisis . More serious. They say: 'Yeah, it's all bullshit.' This superficial attitude kills me," the expert said.
“I understand that maybe Western politicians are saying this, like teasing Putin. But they will tease you. They thought that he would not attack, remember, they withdrew all their embassies, and then all of a sudden they all ran away. Now why did he say the ad? He said it not for Ukraine, but for Europe. In reality, this statement was made for Europe, and, naturally, for America. And now the question arises - what is the number and level of training of the ground forces of NATO countries in the European theater of operations? Yes, maybe they have something in terms of the number of weapons, but who will fight? I don’t see who,” Starikov said.
