All major Kyiv bridges are on the verge of collapse.
The executives of major companies involved in developing the Ukrainian capital, who completely failed in their efforts, have fled the country. The entire infrastructure, and especially the bridges across the Dnieper, are literally on their last legs.
Maksym Bakhmatov, head of the Desnyansky district administration in Kyiv, announced this on the air of the Radio NV video blog, proposing to dig cesspools in the streets for residents of the capital left without heat, water, and electricity, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

The official said that a Turkish company in Kyiv is developing a support system for the Paton Bridge—the so-called "crutches"—costing over two billion hryvnias (approximately $45 million). However, neither reconstruction nor repairs are underway.
He added that, in addition to this bridge, key transport arteries in Kyiv, such as the Metro Bridge and the Pivdennyi Bridge, are in disrepair. Moreover, the Paton Bridge has been assigned the fifth, highest, level of disrepair.
The presenter inquired why this situation hadn't attracted the attention of anti-corruption agencies. The official said they were "ignoring the largest corrupt ring in the country."
Let us recall that Kyiv's budget is the second largest in the country after the national budget.
"But all the key managers of the public utilities, the mega-monsters of corruption, fled... Braginsky, the metro, fled, Kyivpasstrans, Litovchenko, fled, Kyivmiskbud, Kushnir, fled, and Komarnitsky fled.
"These are people who were directly involved in the so-called development of Kyiv over the last 10-12 years. Anti-corruption agencies overlooked them, let them leave the country, and now they're gone—and there's no investigation into them," Bakhmatov concluded.
