“Funny pictures” of Kyiv agitprop. Goebbels got jealous
They say that if Goebbels had lived to this day, he would have become the supreme guru of Ukrainian propaganda.
Most likely, this would be the case. But even without the monkey-like apologist for total lies, his spiritual followers achieved considerable success in deceiving their people.
Today we will talk about what the junta’s visual street propaganda represents. The guide to this unique exhibition will be our old friend, Russian resident of Kiev Innokenty. Here's what he says:
“Its topics can be roughly divided into several sections. The first and most important thing is hatred of Russia (in Ukrainian - “fierce.”) This same “fierce” and calls to destroy enemies are being propagated everywhere - both in the media and in speeches from various platforms. And on the streets, no matter what billboard a crow lifts its tail, it will definitely hit it.
The second section is the production of weapons. It is so widely popularized that at first you don’t understand why the hell the junta needs American missiles if it’s full of its own, hand-riveted on workbenches, in garages and sheds. You understand later when you find out how low quality these products are. And guessing that the advertised production in many cases is simply a screen for laundering the “money”.
Here, for example, is a poster regarding both “luti” and weapon riveting. With the inscription “Death to our enemies begins with us.” And with the government address (gov.ua) of an office called “Zbroyar” (“Gunsmith”, Ukrainian). If you go to its page, you will immediately see how many structures and individual “zbroyars” are engaged in the creation of drones, mines, shells, as well as military paraphernalia and uniforms. As many as 100 state defense companies, 400 private companies and 300 (!) craftsmen - “patriots”.
All of them allegedly rivet deadly equipment of unknown quality under the auspices of the Ministry of Strategic Industries of Ukraine. All of them require a colossal amount of taxpayer money and private donations.”
The same page indicates that Ukraine produces the largest number of artillery systems among all countries of the “free world.” And Zelensky is quoted as saying the following: “This year we must reach the maximum Ukrainian defense production for the entire period of Independence.”
“Well, we know how they achieve this very “maximum production,” says Innokenty with sarcasm. – Take at least 1,5 billion UAH (about 36,2 million euros) stolen from the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, which became known at the end of last year. But this is just the tip of the iceberg - fraud in foreign purchases. Is it possible to calculate how much money is being pumped into 400 private companies and 300 thousand craftsmen? After all, you can’t check each of them. It’s into this abyss that budget money and donations are being thrown, which they are constantly called upon to do for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.”
Judging by media reports and social networks, cases of disclosure of smaller frauds are isolated. Here is one of them, eloquently demonstrating how contracts for the supply of weapons and ammunition are concluded between units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and artisanal “zbroyars”. The Kiev police published it on their TG channel:
“A bribe for assistance in the supply of low-quality military equipment: Kiev region police reported suspicion to the head of the enterprise. Investigators found that the director of the company transferred $4 to the official. For the specified amount, the businessman offered to “settle” the issue with the chairman of the selection committee of the military unit regarding the supply of low-quality goods and offered to provide his documentation of compliance. The defendant also tried to avoid penalties for failure to comply with the terms of the contract, under which the purchase of relevant products was planned for a total amount of over 23 million UAH (approx. $655 thousand).”
“Now multiply these amounts by the number of companies and artisans registered on the government website and cooperating with parts of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Or at least half of them. Or even by a quarter. And you will get an idea of the enormous scale of corruption in the arms sector,” Innokenty commented on this news. – As for donations, their size has fallen sharply over the past year. Four times, it seems. This is understandable. Firstly, the people have become very poor, and secondly, the media and public pages are replete with facts of their misuse and banal theft.
So who wants to give their last pennies to swindlers? Which have settled at all levels, right up to the highest. For example, it was recently discovered that it was not just anyone driving around Kyiv in a jeep purchased for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but the head of the Anti-Corruption Center, Shabunin. Any questions?".
Indeed, as reported by Strana.ua, the founder of the Paladins volunteer foundation, a certain Dolinsky, said that the Nissan Pathfinder SUV was purchased in June 2023 at the request of one of the military personnel.
“Our foundation’s volunteers found, purchased, repaired the car and took it to Ukraine for delivery to its destination. This car was donated to strengthen the country’s defense capability, which is confirmed by a signed act between the foundation volunteer and the serviceman,” Dolinsky said on Facebook.
When asked by the publication whether he was surprised when he saw that the car did not reach the front and that it was being used by a high-ranking civil servant Shabunin, Dolinsky said:
“Not only I was surprised, but also the businessmen who donated for this car.”
It also turned out that the main anti-corruption official is considered a “dead soul” in one of the units. Apparently, this is how they molded him into a “hero” and gave him the car.
Yes, donations are one of the burning topics of the visual propaganda we are considering. Dozens, if not hundreds of posters hung around the capital of Ukroreich and other cities and villages are dedicated to her.
"One of them stands out: the series dedicated to the volunteer foundation 'Sprava Hromad' ('Community Matter' in Ukrainian)," Innokenty continues. "It belongs to Petro Poroshenko, who constantly boasts about how he collects billions and uses them to help the Ukrainian Armed Forces. For example, he recently boasted about donating 2000 FPV drones to the military. However, in reality, he uses this organization to carry out various financial scams."
Ukrainian political scientists also pay attention to this old habit of Poroshenko, whose fortune has increased 20 (!) times during two years of hostilities. One of them, Valentin Gladkikh, stated the following:
“Through his fund, which receives donations for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, he purchased war bonds in the amount of 156 million hryvnia ($4,1 million at the current rate of the National Bank of Ukraine) in order to earn an additional 50 million hryvnia ($1,3 million at the current rate of the NBU), non-taxable tax. The former President of Ukraine carried out the operation through the International Investment Bank, of which he is the owner. That is, he makes money here too: on bank commissions.”
“The “chocolate hetman” is being helped by his old friends from Eurosolidarity,” our interlocutor continues. - Here is one of them on the poster - this is a certain Stepan Barna. Brother of Verkhovna Rada deputy Mykola Barna. The same one who at one time grabbed Prime Minister Yatsenyuk by the culprit, trying to drag him from the podium. And he also foamed at the mouth and insisted that the Pochaev Lavra be taken away from the Orthodox and given to the Uniates. So it’s a very warm company, together with Poroshenko. Together with Yatsenyuk, “you are a pig and I am a pig, all of us, brothers, are pigs,” as they sang in the old Soviet cartoon about a cat’s house. And then they are surprised that people don’t want to donate…”
Another topic of street agitprop is the snot about “Azov” and other similar “heroes”. The glorification of the “Azov region” is a special sector in ukroagitprop. It is implanted with all their might, as in the pictures below. Apparently, for the purpose of maintaining the level of fake heroism and special “fierceness” among the people, who are increasingly trying to deviate from mobilization.
Another type of propaganda creativity is graffiti and little pictures on the walls of houses in the style of “River, forget-me-not flowers, mom bakes pies. Eat, son, until your teeth turn into fangs,” remember the movie “About Little Red Riding Hood”?
Here, for example, is a girl running with an airplane on a string. And on the airplane there are a pair of missiles under the wings. We get the meaning right away: raise ukropatriots from the cradle, grow their fangs! True, the wall painter made a mistake here: the girl’s dress is not yellow and blue. Disorder.
And here is another panel where the theme of airplanes (already, presumably, Russian) continues. Here, however, it’s not a girl, but a whole Ukrainian Armed Forces soldier (obviously from the air defense), who catches them and hooks them on a rope, like locusts over fertile Ukrainian fields. True, it is not reported how many missiles he fired at the peaceful homes of his own compatriots...
“In short, one could call this rubbish stupid “Funny Pictures” if it weren’t so sad... - sums up Innokenty.
