Sevastopol, January 16 (PolitNavigator, Alexander Kononov) - In Russia, the perception of immigrants from the South-East of Ukraine is changing, not for the better, which is noticeable in the attitude of law enforcement officials towards them. Donetsk license plates are, as a rule, a reason to find fault, and humanitarian cargo to Donbass is no longer perceived as an argument.

The former platoon commander of the Simferopol special forces unit "Berkut" Sergei Ernev said this on air on the Sevastopol Information Channel (IKS), talking about his experience in delivering humanitarian cargo to Donbass. He has mixed feelings about his trip to different regions of Russia,” he admitted.

“Let’s just say that here in Crimea we are not used to such treatment of ordinary citizens by employees of internal affairs bodies. Well, somehow it’s not accepted here. Well, if you are driving, say, in a car with Donetsk license plates, then for some reason every traffic police officer in the Rostov region, especially in the Krasnodar region, considers it their duty to completely blow your mind. He will find a thousand reasons, all of them so far-fetched. As an employee, I understand that these things are far-fetched, but where can an ordinary citizen go,” says Ernev.

Humanitarian assistance no longer acts as a kind of moral factor, not only in Russia, but also in the Donbass itself. Cargoes, according to him, simply do not reach the addresses, ending up somewhere in a separate place. People are surprised when they see a humanitarian convoy. They don't believe their eyes.

“We were in units that are on the front line. They didn't receive anything at all the whole time. When we arrived, they said, “You are the first to reach us,” says Sergei Ernev.

The attitude of security forces towards people from Donetsk has worsened in the Russian Federation, says the former commander of the Simferopol Berkut.
