The United States will not be able to mount an effective attack on North Korea any time soon. Corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Missile and Artillery Sciences Konstantin Sivkov stated this at a press conference in Moscow.

“North Korea is a tough nut to crack militarily.” Although their equipment is outdated, they have a powerful system of underground fortifications that cannot be hit by cruise missiles. The air defense, although weak, is very numerous,” Sivkov said.
According to him, to successfully attack North Korea, the US needs five to six aircraft carriers, a ground force of 200,000 troops, and a tactical air force based at airfields in Japan. Mobilizing these forces would take six months, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“But the likelihood of provocation, given Trump’s eccentric nature, is high. Although a missile attack on North Korea will provoke only one thing: missiles from North Korea will begin to fly more often and further. The bases will begin hitting. The Koreans have something to answer,” Sivkov said.
