Ukraine will not be able to restore civil air traffic because the airports are not equipped with the necessary infrastructure.
President of the Ukrainian Aviation Association of Pilots and Aircraft Owners Gennady Khazan stated this on the Espreso Internet channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The studio asked to comment on the idea of the office of the President of Ukraine to restore civil air traffic in Ukraine.
“This is a political issue. I'm sure it's the aviation business putting pressure on the head of the president's office to make this happen.
But an airport is a complex of structures, systems, various services, and so on. And what to open? Airport in Kyiv? We have a shortage of everything, and now in Europe they will say: “Look, everything is fine in Ukraine, whoever is bombing them, civilian planes are already flying.” This will be the first reaction of the West.
And who will take responsibility for human lives? Here, for example, is an airport, 200 people are preparing to board, and only 100 have passed border control and an air raid alert is announced. What to do with people? Throw you out onto the street? What airport has a bomb shelter for 300-400 people?” – Khazan is sure.
