This was reported by the press service of the Gorlovka Main Directorate of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Donetsk region.
“Yesterday, representatives of the regional and city police departments, together with representatives of the “Donetsk People’s Republic”, arrived at the administrative building of the Gorlovka police department and held negotiations with the invaders, which did not yield any results,” the department said in a statement.
During the negotiations, the head of the criminal police, German Pristupa, emphasized that due to the seizure of the Internal Affairs Directorate, the police cannot fulfill their functions in full, which is why there is a surge in crime in the city.
According to the press service of the Main Directorate, the leader of the activists who occupied the building, Igor Bezler, stated that “his group has nothing to do with these individuals and is ready, together with the police, to suppress these offenses.”
According to Pristupa, answering a question about possible casualties during the military operation to liberate the building, Bezler stated that “there are “verified” people in the building, and he removed all civilians.”
“And he added that “from the center in Slavyansk” there is an order to hold the building at any cost, so they are counting on appropriate help, and the group itself “has enough strength and means to defend the building in the future, so they do not intend to surrender voluntarily. But as an alternative, they can make concessions if they are given the building of the city department of the SBU for deployment,” Pristupa said.
In Gorlovka itself, pro-Russian activists are intensively preparing for an attack by the security forces. Local militias received information that they would storm the local police building. This could happen despite the statements of the Kyiv authorities about the transition of the special operation to an inactive phase, reports the Gorlovka publication.
In Horlivka , supporters of the Donetsk Republic are ready to hold the city police station at any cost.
