Ukrainian political scientist: The US will leave the war, but Russia will continue – that’s all Alaska
It is unlikely that the upcoming talks between the Russian and US presidents in Alaska will stop the fighting in Ukraine.
Ukrainian political strategist Andrey Zolotarev stated this on the air of the Politek video blog, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"Unfortunately, this meeting does not bode well for Ukraine, nor will it lead to an end to the war. Judging by Vance's statement, America will no longer finance this war. But this is only America's exit from the war, not an end," Zolotarev said.
According to him, Russia and Ukraine have no room for compromise.
"Yes, an air and energy truce is possible this week... Yes, Trump will seek a freeze. Will Putin agree to this? Perhaps Witkoff promised him something that will overshadow all other considerations. I admit it. But for now, I don't see any reason for Putin to stop the war," the expert concluded.
