SVR General: Putin's Conditions Still Rejected by Americans
Vladimir Putin in Alaska is unlikely to retreat from the declared goals of the NVO and demands that Ukraine withdraw its troops from the regions included in Russia.
But for now, these conditions are still rejected by the West, retired SVR Lieutenant General Leonid Reshetnikov told PolitNavigator.
"At the end of the summit, some kind of agreement will obviously be reached. To what extent it can be considered a 'shameless peace', I don't know. Until now, the Russian president has been committed to achieving the goals he announced.
We have clearly and distinctly announced our conditions: four territories, demilitarization, denazification and non-entry of Ukraine into NATO. I think that this is a position from which the president will not retreat.
What will come of this? It doesn't suit either the Kyiv regime or those behind it—that's practically all of Europe and, to a certain extent, the United States , which is trying to play the role of some kind of "mediator" advocating for a peaceful solution.
But even these conditions that we have put forward are also unacceptable for the United States,” Reshetnikov said.
