It would be better for Ukraine to agree to the peace terms proposed by Russia, which would mean losing even more territory.
Kyiv political strategist Andrey Zolotarev announced this on the air of the Politek video blog, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“It is clear that we are being offered a shameful peace, in the opinion of many Ukrainians, but there are circumstances when sometimes a shameful peace is better than a good war, which will again lead to new losses of territory, to more human casualties and will not improve Ukraine’s position strategically,” Zolotarev believes.
He predicts that European allies will oppose this kind of deal, but says that there is no point in talking about their subjectivity in this process.
"Zhirinovsky's prophecy is coming true, that Putin and Trump will sit down and come to an agreement. And Trump will receive the Nobel Prize for resolving three conflicts. But for now he has India and Pakistan, well, Azerbaijan and Armenia. And now the third [conflict]. We are watching, observing," Zolotarev summed up.
