Ukrainian officer in the ATO zone drank himself into a coma
The Ukrainian Armed Forces officer was hospitalized in a state of coma, which was provoked by frequent alcohol consumption. His addiction to strong drinks led him to a massive heart attack and subsequent coma. An employee of the Starobelsk City Hospital reported this to the LPR Ministry of Internal Affairs.

“Alcoholism in the Armed Forces of Ukraine is a serious problem. I know enough of my colleagues who work in clinics in Kyiv-controlled territories. The main difficulty is that the soldier, no matter what problems he has, will not consult a doctor or will do so as a last resort. Psychiatry and psychology in Ukraine have always been and are viewed as something shameful, as a lifelong trauma, especially for a military man.
As for the reasons for alcoholism among employees of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, they are varied: an imperfect system of recruitment into the army, i.e. conscripts may already be dependent, lack of discipline among the military, shock received as a result of military operations.
In addition, in addition to the direct impact on the psyche and body, alcohol abuse leads to so-called non-combat losses in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which we are increasingly learning about from military reports,” a psychiatrist-narcologist working in the DPR told PolitNavigator.
