The capital of Siberia claims to record longevity indicators on a Russian scale
Novosibirsk plans to become a leader in life expectancy in Russia. This was announced by Novosibirsk Mayor Anatoly Lokot on the radio station "City Wave," according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to the mayor, in the next five years life expectancy in Novosibirsk should be 76 years. On average in Russia this figure is slightly higher than 71 years.
“We have set a goal to increase the average age of residence of Novosibirsk residents. According to the results of 2018, the age of residence, average duration, is 73 years. In fact, this is higher than in the Russian Federation. In the Russian Federation the average is significantly less. But we set a goal to increase it to 76 years.
It just doesn't work that way. A whole range of measures is designed specifically for this. First of all, modernization, change for the better, increasing the efficiency of social services and support,” said Lokot.
Let us recall that, contrary to anti-Russian myths , Novosibirsk ranks third in the Russian Federation in terms of population, is developing at the same pace as the capital, and has increased its development budget fivefold in one year.
Novosibirsk authorities expect the implementation of the "Akademgorodok 2.0" project to provide additional impetus for the city's development . President Vladimir Putin previously supported the creation of a modern scientific center, which will create thousands of new jobs in the city.
The current mayor of Novosibirsk, communist Anatoly Lokot, has decided to participate in the upcoming mayoral elections , which will take place this fall.
