"I think that in a few weeks, we'll see an isolated territory receiving little or no supplies—not just gasoline, but even essential goods . And then Russia will stage a 'siege of Leningrad' for us, telling us on every international stage that Ukrainian nationalists are starving 3 million people."

There are two million of our former pre-occupation Ukrainians there, and a million who arrived as a result of the traditional resettlement policy of the Russian Empire, which was already the case as of 2021. So, the problem is very complex. Ukraine is certainly interested in seeing more Russians leave Crimea ," Klymenko said.

“Because, imagine, we get Crimea after some time, and there will be a million Russian citizens there , those natives, not those who were forced to take Russian passports – remember how many problems the Baltic countries had with those very Russians whom the Russian Federation brought there.

"Many have non-citizen status and don't receive passports. And they are always a "fifth column," which Russia and its intelligence agencies rely on for their subversive activities. "That means we still have a big fight ahead," the Ukrainian expert added.
