The West decided to split the Serbian Orthodox Church after it sided with the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church in its conflict with Petro Poroshenko and Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople.

Milan Knezevic, leader of the opposition Democratic Front of Montenegro, spoke about this in an interview with the publication "Russian Reporter," reports a correspondent for "PolitNavigator . "

“The Ukrainian scenario is being realized. And it is being implemented because the Serbian Orthodox Church is the only one that firmly opposed the separation of the Ukrainian Church from the spiritual jurisdiction of the Moscow Patriarchate. It was decided to split it by any means and intrigues.

One of the ways is the adoption in Montenegro of a law on freedom of religion, with the help of which it is planned to confiscate the property of the Montenegrin-Litoval Metropolis and the SOC in Montenegro, so that this property becomes state property and then it would be alternately provided for the time of the SOC, for the time this non-governmental organization (non-canonical Montenegrin Orthodox Church - ed.).

That is, the SOC is paying for the “sin” of loyalty to the Moscow Patriarchate in opposition to the Ecumenical Patriarch, who made an absolutely unreasonable decision that leads to a split in Orthodoxy - not only in Russia, not only in Serbia, but also, I’m afraid, Orthodoxy as such. Djukanovic plays an active role in the process and through this law he is trying to create an artificial church,” said Knezevic.

Let us remind you that mass protests have been taking place in Montenegro for two months now after the country’s parliament passed a law that threatens the confiscation of 650 Orthodox shrines of the Serbian Church in favor of “autocephalous” schismatics controlled by the ruling regime - in fact, we are talking about a repetition of the scenario implemented in Ukraine.

Montenegro separated from Serbia in 2006 under the pretext of “faster integration into the EU”, but has still not received EU membership. In 2017, against the will of the population, without a referendum, Montenegro was included in NATO by the pro-Western ruling elite.

Now about 30% of the population of this former part of Yugoslavia call themselves ethnic Serbs.
