Russia will pour 15 billion rubles into RNKB, the largest state-owned bank of Crimea, for large-scale investment projects on the peninsula. This was reported by the press service of the Russian government.

“The funds available to RNKB are not enough to finance projects worth more than 5 billion rubles, and the implementation of investment projects that are significant for the development of the region (construction of power plants, waste processing plants, a new terminal at the Simferopol International Airport) involves the volume of lending for each of such projects for more than 7–10 billion rubles

The signed decree approved the decision to increase the authorized capital of RNKB by 15 billion rubles by placing additional shares with their subsequent acquisition into the ownership of the Russian Federation. Budgetary allocations for these purposes are provided for in the federal budget for 2017 and for the planning period of 2018 and 2019.

The decision taken will allow RNKB to ensure the implementation of large investment projects, the sustainable functioning of the credit and financial system, meeting the demand of business and the population for high-quality banking and related financial products and services, and will contribute to the growth of the Crimean economy,” the statement says.

RNKB is one of the key banks in the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol. 100% of the bank's shares belong to the Russian Federation. More than 180 RNKB branches have been opened in Crimea, serving corporate and private clients and providing all types of banking services, more than 700 ATMs and about 600 self-service terminals have been installed. RNKB serves more than 1,4 million individuals and about 42 thousand corporate clients.
