“This Agreement is an instrument of pacification in the region. This is not an aggressive agreement directed against anyone. This is a defensive alliance, predetermined by the fact that of all the Caucasian countries, only Arimenia is with us in the CSTO. In the context of the conflict with Azerbaijan, which is supported by Turkey, the presence of our base is of a deterrent nature,” said deputy Konstantin Zatulin.
He highly appreciated the quality of relations between Russia and Armenia.
“Today in the Caucasus, Russia has only one true ally - Armenia. The reasons for this can be determined in different ways. “All taken together and the fact that Armenians in large numbers are citizens of the Russian Federation,” Zatulin said.
Russia has created a joint military force with a single ally in the Caucasus.
