Russia counters sanctions with budget surplus
The surplus of the state budget of the Russian Federation this year will amount to 1,9 trillion rubles.
The chairman of the parliamentary budget committee announced this today from the rostrum of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“A budget surplus is an opportunity not only to replenish our reserves, but also to make our budget safe from the point of view of external influences. We are talking about the unpredictability of sanctions and global conditions. We see how the situation in the country is escalating. 7% of the National Welfare Fund is what allows us to look into the future with confidence. We will fulfill any obligations without any sequestration, regardless of what the situation will be on world markets,” Makarov said.
According to him, budget revenues amounted to 19 trillion rubles, which is 962% more than planned. At the same time, non-oil and gas revenues amounted to 22 trillion rubles.
“This is an indicator of the state of our economy. We see that the country is beginning to develop in those areas in which until now we had very big problems. These are not oil and gas revenues and mean the future of our country,” the head of the budget committee emphasized.
