Russia will not stop Zelensky from cutting the branch on which he sits - expert
President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky should have understood that even a hypothetical clash between the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation would lead to the overthrow of the government in Kiev and the installation of a rabid nationalist regime, even more resistant to a handshake for Moscow than the current one.
The head of the department of Eurasian integration and development of the SCO at the Institute of CIS Countries, Vladimir Evseev, stated this on the YouTube channel “Sputnik in Russian,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Every action gives rise to reaction. From this point of view, I would like to advise our Ukrainian listeners to watch the last speech of Vladimir Putin, his articles, everything is clearly written there, and this is a very serious warning - if the Ukrainian government tries to cut the branch on which it sits, then Russia will not be it interfere.
Because if, hypothetically, an armed conflict occurs on the territory of Ukraine between the armed forces of Ukraine and the Russian Federation, then I see the only effect from this - the overthrow of the government in Kyiv. Frenzied nationalists will come to power, with whom Russia can have nothing in common.
And it’s not even Petro Poroshenko, it could be people who are closer to Lyashko, to Tyagnibok, you know, such people will come to power. What can Russia have in common with them? Absolutely nothing,” said the expert.
“Vladimir Zelensky should first of all think about such a development of events if he wants to remain in the presidency - at least until the end of his term. And if he doesn’t want this, or certain forces in Washington want this, then the development of events to replace Zelensky will be an obvious consequence of the reckless actions that the Ukrainian leadership is taking,” added Yevseev.
