The Sandu regime is preparing provocations on the border with Transnistria during local elections in Moldova
Representatives of Transnistria called on Chisinau to pay attention to the likelihood of incidents in the dividing zone along the Dniester during the general elections to local authorities in Moldova on November 5.
This statement was made by the delegation of the unrecognized republic to the Joint Control Commission (JCC) for managing the peacekeeping operation, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In the proposed order of holding these [election] events, the intentions of the representatives of Moldova responsible for the election campaign are seen to provoke conflict situations in the area of responsibility of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces. They threaten to create tension with Transnistria,” the statement says.
They recalled that in the past, conflicts arose due to the location of polling stations in settlements under the jurisdiction of Transnistria, in particular in the Dubossary region.
We are talking, in particular, about the Korzhevo microdistrict in the Transnistrian regional center of Dubossary, which Moldova considers a separate village within the “Dubossary region” of Moldova, which includes a number of settlements under Moldovan control on the right and left banks of the Dniester.
Under the control of the Moldovan authorities, in the Corzhevo microdistrict there is only a nursing home, where the Mihai Eminescu Lyceum is also located, teaching according to the Moldovan curriculum (where the language is called Romanian, and “the history of the Romanians” is taught as the main historical subject). The mayor's office (local administration) of the "village of Corzhova" is located in the same building.
Tiraspol believes that the holding of local elections by the Moldovan authorities in the Korzhevo microdistrict can be regarded as a “dangerous provocation.”
