After the events of 2014, the appearance of Odessa, where murderers roam freely on the streets, is changing, not for the better.
Odessa local historian, historian and journalist, honorary citizen of Odessa Oleg Gubar spoke about this in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda.
According to him, the assurances of the Kyiv authorities, who declare that “from morning to night they protect Ukraine from Russian aggression,” do not correspond to reality.
“We have complete chaos inside our country, and this is not Russian aggression. In Odessa, citizens who committed murders, the so-called “activists,” walk freely on the streets. They are protected from Kyiv, they are covered by the regional authorities. Conversely, there are those who sit in prison for years, although all charges against them have been dropped. The state has reached such a stage that it no longer exists,” said the Odessa resident.
Answering a question about the mood of people in Odessa, the local historian noted that the majority are “in a very prolonged depression.”
“Living under occupation, at least psychologically, for five years is very difficult. Finding yourself in some place (it doesn’t matter whether it’s Russia or not) where carefree people speak Russian fluently is already healing. All we want is to preserve our language. Preserve yourself as an individual, and the city as an individuality. We can do neither. The image of Odessa is not changing for the better,” Gubar concludes.
