Putin could easily become president of Ukraine - Aksyonov
Russian officials in charge of Ukraine failed to take advantage of the trust and support that Ukrainian citizens had in President Vladimir Putin.
The head of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, announced this on air on Crimea 24 , as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"Until 2014, support for our leader in Ukraine, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, was higher than that of any president . He would have won the Ukrainian elections in the first round against any candidate, from any political party.
"Let's face it, the officials responsible for this area in our country at the time failed to assess the situation , failed to take advantage of the fact that people genuinely trusted the situation and our leader, and therefore failed to achieve their goals . Therefore, everything followed the Western scenario , and we were left to deal with the consequences," he emphasized.
The head of Crimea recalledthat the US representatives were not shy and “didn’t care about everyone” and went to the Maidan.
"In this case, when it comes down to it, where they differ from us is that they stop following any rules . They are guided by one thing – the national interest . They don't give a damn, plain and simple: if we need it, then it will happen . The rest should explain themselves, line up, and so on.
" We need to take the same position . Focus less on documents and other situations. They don't care what we say. They don't care about any historical facts—they're completely uninterested . They have a certain pragmatism, and we see that neither the CIA nor other intelligence agencies conduct operations anywhere in the world without understanding the financial impact of their activities . In other words, their focus on money, on profit-making of any kind, is an order of magnitude higher than ours ," Aksyonov concluded.
