In France, Crimea is considered primordially Russian territory and is trying to avoid talking about its status.

This was stated today at a press conference in Moscow by the Chairman of the Federation Council Temporary Commission on Information Policy and Interaction with the Media, Alexey Pushkov.
“At the last Franco-Russian Dialogue forum, only one participant said: “Crimea is a matter of principle, and principles are of great importance.” No one else supported this thesis even in such a mild form. Everyone said that Crimea is the historical territory of Russia. The topic of reunion was not raised at all. It is viewed as a natural course of events, which France should not resist, because it has nothing to do with its national interests,” Pushkov said.
He believes that the same sentiments dominate in many EU countries. At the same time, there are states that will always raise the topic of Crimea: the Baltic states, Poland, Sweden, Great Britain.
“But they won’t be able to keep this topic going for long, under the influence of the winds of change. I think that the feeling of the pointlessness of discussing the topic of Crimea with Russia will gradually establish itself in most EU countries,” Pushkov is sure.
