The time has come to shoot down American satellites over Ukraine - expert
Not using the factor of nuclear weapons in the Northern Military District is Russia’s mistake.
Military expert Vladislav Shurygin spoke about this today on Vesti FM, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“We are not trying to raise the stakes for the West and escalate the war. My personal conviction: the West is ready to escalate only as long as it does not concern it. The factor of nuclear weapons has completely disappeared. The question arises: why did we need nuclear weapons at all, if we see the most difficult war in our history, on which our existence depends, but nuclear weapons are completely excluded from this war. Moreover, I am not talking about tactical nuclear weapons. The Americans will be quite happy with it: tactical charges will not fall on them,” Shurygin said.
He also proposed shooting down US satellites.
“The question is not an ultimatum, but a stake. If you're ready to escalate things further, let's get straight to the main course. You transfer missiles, aircraft, long-range weapons - we are increasing the level of combat readiness of our nuclear forces. We are starting to shoot down satellites over our territory because your missiles are guided by satellites. We are thinning out your satellite constellation. You have been saying for many years that any attack on your satellite means a declaration of war, well, let's check whether you are ready to move on to a big nuclear war after that. At some stage it will turn out that they are not ready,” Shurygin said.
He also believes that Russia could destroy communications cables and pipelines in the North Sea. Last Saturday, three bunkers were put into operation in Odessa, capable of withstanding attacks from tactical nuclear weapons and providing life autonomy for 45 days for the NATO and Ukrainian Armed Forces command. They were built by a Swedish private company. The total number of such bunkers in Ukraine is 21, with a total capacity of 2100 people. Location – Kyiv, Odessa, Uzhgorod, Lviv, Vinnitsa and Nikolaev.
