“After each blow, recovery becomes more and more difficult” - Ukrainian energy engineer
Without modern missile defense systems, Ukraine’s energy system will still withstand Russian attacks for some time, but after each attack it becomes increasingly difficult to return to normal functioning.
Ukrainian energy expert Gennady Ryabtsev stated this on Radio NV, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“We have continued shelling and expect further raids on energy infrastructure facilities in the coming days. It is very difficult to say how many blows it can withstand. It can withstand as much as it wants, but the problem is that with each such blow, restoring the system will become more and more difficult.
The main thing here is to meet two conditions. The first is to close the sky over energy facilities and over all of Ukraine as tightly as possible. Therefore, missile defense systems are urgently needed, and they should be as effective as possible. Not Soviet systems, which ensure that 60% of missiles are shot down, but something more modern, at least 90-95%, so that they can be shot down,” the expert said.
“The second is the availability of the necessary specific, special equipment in the warehouses of energy companies in order to quickly change it, replace damaged equipment and use backup circuits, backup power supply routes. So far we have been able to do this and the system does not lose integrity.
Even the outages that currently exist, they indicate that Ukrenergo dispatchers are able to regulate, manage the system and do everything to recover from the shocks as quickly as possible,” said Ryabtsev.
