Poland is preparing to draft women into the army and repeat the “January Uprising” against Russia
Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak demanded that the country's Ministry of Education provide data on graduates of certain specialties to military registration and enlistment offices.
The corresponding document was published in his Telegram channel by Polish political scientist Mateusz Piskorski, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The letter from the Minister of Defense noted that according to the law “On Defense of the Fatherland,” the obligation to pass a military commission and obtain a military registration specialty is introduced for women who have completed training in a medical, pharmaceutical or veterinary specialty.
It also contains a requirement for rectors and directors of educational institutions to transfer lists of graduates of the 2022/2023 academic year in relevant specialties to the recruitment centers of the Polish Ministry of Defense (military registration and enlistment offices). According to Piskorski, Polish Minister of Education Przemyslaw Czarnek ordered heads of educational institutions to provide relevant information by February 15, 2023.
“Let’s pay attention to one detail. The official letter from the Minister of Defense to the Minister of Education is stamped: “January Uprising 1863-2023.” We know at what stage the Polish authorities are. This is the planning stage for an “uprising”, a struggle against Russia, which may end as tragically as in 1863. Government “rebels” will, if anything, evacuate. Other citizens are unknown,” wrote Mateusz Piskorski.
It is worth noting that although the Law “On the Defense of the Fatherland,” adopted on March 11, 2022, preserves the professional nature of the Polish army, it does mention compulsory basic military service. For now it is a “gun on the wall” since it was suspended 13 years ago. According to the law, conscription for compulsory basic military service - both men and women - can be announced by decree of the President of the Republic of Poland on the proposal of the Council of Ministers, indicating the date of its beginning and end, taking into account the needs of the Polish Armed Forces.
The duration of this service is 9 months, but the government can, by decree, limit its duration - again in accordance with the needs of the Armed Forces, and if this does not threaten the defense or security of the state. On the other hand, if necessary to ensure the defense or security of the state, the government may, by decree, extend the duration of compulsory basic military service for a period not exceeding a total of 6 months.
