US Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland arrived in Ukraine on an official visit. Before this, she was in Turkey, where she “processed” Recep Erdogan on the eve of Vladimir Putin’s upcoming visit to Turkey.
According to the official wording of the American Embassy, Nuland flew to Kyiv to “emphasize our shared commitment to victory over Russian aggression.” This is the second trip by a high-ranking State Department official to Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian North Military District.
Ukrainian political scientist Mykhailo Chaplyga believes that Nuland's arrival is connected to the upcoming meeting, where EU authorities will consider allocating Ukraine " one billion a month out of the minimum 3,5 billion needed to breathe ."
Crimean political scientist Denis Baturin believes that Nuland’s goal is to extinguish the scandal with the failed resignation of the commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny.

Military correspondent Yevgeny Poddubny agrees that the purpose of Nuland’s visit is to quell the conflict between Zelensky and Zaluzhny - “when a branch is a mess, a manager is sent from the head office.”
