"It's not worth getting involved" - French general about Ukraine
Former commander of the 7th Tank Brigade of the French Armed Forces, General Nicolas Richoux, does not see NATO as having sufficient human resources to deploy contingents in Ukraine.
He stated this on the air of the French cable television channel LCI, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"So do we have the means? Of course, we have the means. NATO is a very big alliance. We have a lot of things. The truth is: is there political will? Here I am much less calm. We have seen very well that cowardice happens from time to time among allies. Will we be able to create a coalition despite Russia's veto? I doubt it very much," said Rishou.
He pointed out that France is “quite persistent” on this issue, but it will not go alone, and the general has doubts about the other members of the “coalition”.
"If we have less than 50 people there, it's not worth going there. In this conflict, there is a significant force on the other side. Even in South Korea, the Americans have about 30 people, and North Korea is not a threat from the Russian army. Will we be able to mobilize 50 people? It seems very, very difficult to me," Rishu said.
