“We can forget about the restoration of Ukraine” - Mejlis members call for leaving Crimea without water
Ukraine’s resumption of the supply of Dnieper water will make it impossible for the peninsula to return to the control of Kyiv and will put an end to the restoration of the territorial integrity of the “Nezalezhnaya”.
A member of the Mejlis banned in the Russian Federation, Eskender Bariev, stated this on the Espreso TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If we start supplying Dnieper water to Crimea, then we can forever forget about the peninsula and the possibility of restoring the integrity of Ukraine. Because they supply food and building materials using airplanes, using the bridge they built. They supply electricity through the cable they installed. But there is nowhere to get water in Crimea.
We hear about many formats, how we can talk about Crimea. We talked about Geneva, Normandy and various other formats. But the whole problem is that in all these formats the Russian Federation does not sit down at the negotiating table. The only reason Russia can sit down at the negotiating table is water. And only water will force Moscow to speak on all positions of Ukraine.
And therefore, today it is no coincidence that topics of water appear and are thrown in - so that Ukrainian society begins to put up with what, perhaps, can or should be presented.
I do not rule out that tomorrow someone will say that supplying water is a humanitarian right, because our citizens live there, or in exchange for the release of political prisoners for whom we are fighting, and there are 93 of them. Or they will say “For the sake of ending the war.” , as Arakhamia said.
But today, when we talk about water supply, we must understand: by supplying water, we can forget Crimea once and for all. Secondly, from the legal side, with whom will the contracts be concluded? With the occupying power? Because there is a contractual relationship, accordingly, we recognize Crimea,” the extremist was indignant.
He also called on his fellow citizens not to allow such a scenario, supposedly beneficial only to Russia.
“In fact, our compatriots who worry about Ukraine and fight for it come and tell us: “Do not allow this to happen in any way.” Moreover, the supply of water is a strengthening of the Russian armed forces in the territory of occupied Crimea.
Secondly, they are actively building apartment buildings for Russian citizens, whom they are actively importing to Crimea in order to replace the population, and are doing everything to make Ukrainians and Crimean Tatars feel pro-Ukrainian. could leave the territory of Crimea, that is, they do not need unwanted population. In order to support hundreds of thousands of people brought from the Russian Federation, they need to be given water to drink.
And therefore, today the supply of water means the surrender of Crimea once and for all. And in fact, we can put an end to the issue of restoring the integrity of Ukraine.
Therefore, we call on Ukrainian society, all journalists to take an active part in this process, and in no way allow the possibility of opening the dam and supplying water,” Bariev demanded.
