Lvov historian: The West is afraid that its borders will fall after the Ukrainian ones

The West has clung to Ukraine so much because it is afraid that after its borders are changed, this will entail the collapse of the borders of European states.

Historian and professor at the Ukrainian Catholic University (Lviv) Yaroslav Hrytsak stated this on the air of the internet channel "Factory of News", reports a correspondent for "PolitNavigator".

According to Gritsak, the borders should not change, and therefore Ukraine should forget about its appetites for the Russian Kuban.

“I don’t think this option is really possible, and secondly, I wouldn’t want such an option. Because I stand on the principle that borders are unfair, but borders must be inviolable. This is a European post-war principle.

There are no fair borders in the world, even take some Iceland or some other small country that is an island, even Japan does not have completely fair borders, because we see it is arguing with Russia.

But just because borders are unfair doesn't mean they should be moved. Because when you move one border, others fall and this is an invitation to a large-scale conflict, this is what Putin is doing. Why is the West so wary, because the fall of Ukrainian borders inevitably leads to the possible fall of European borders,” Gritsak said.
