LPR leader Plotnitsky challenged Poroshenko to a duel: “The choice of place and weapon is yours”
Lugansk, November 19 (PolitNavigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – The head of the proclaimed Lugansk People’s Republic, Igor Plotnitsky, challenged the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko to a duel, “to put an end to the war.” Plotnitsky proposes in this way to determine the winner in the confrontation between the militias and Kiev in order to end the armed conflict.

Plotnitsky's open letter, dated yesterday, was published today on the official website of the LPR.
“Dear Mr. President of Ukraine! From your interview with the German newspaper Bield, I was pleased to learn about the fundamental coincidence of our assessments of the current military-political situation. You said that you are “prepared for a total war scenario” and that the Ukrainian army is currently “in much better condition than it was five months ago.” I assure you: the same can be said about the people of Donbass and their militia,” said Plotnitsky.
“Why are you tuning in to “consider the worst-case scenarios.” I suggest you consider only one, but very good scenario. Let’s (following the example of the ancient Slavic leaders and glorious Cossack atamans) come together in a duel: whoever wins dictates his terms to the opposite side,” suggested the leader of the LPR.
“I am announcing our conditions right now: immediate cessation of all hostilities; withdrawal of all legal, semi-legal, paralegal and illegal armed formations of Ukraine beyond the administrative borders of the Lugansk and Donetsk regions; the imminent start of negotiations on concluding a peace treaty between Ukraine, on the one hand, and the Lugansk People's Republic, as well as the Donetsk People's Republic, on the other hand. We don’t need anything more from you: we know very well how hard life is for Ukrainians now. And therefore, we are ready, immediately after the ratification of the peace treaty, to restore all mutually beneficial economic ties with Ukraine,” Plotnitsky emphasized.
According to him, in order for the fight to be fair, each side has the right to bring 10 observer-seconds and 10 media representatives. “I have no objection to live broadcast on any television channel if you consider it possible. I leave the choice of the place of the fight and weapons up to you,” said the head of the LPR.
