Leader of the Bosnian Serbs: “America has finally shown its cards – sanctions on us for cooperation with Russia”
President of Republika Srpska BiH Milorad Dodik responded to the US imposition of sanctions against the Minister of Industry, Energy and Mining of the Republic of Serbia Petar Djokic.
The American Ministry of Finance reported that it sanctioned Djokic for signing an agreement with Croatia on the construction of a pipeline from a Russian oil refinery in Croatia to Brod, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Personal sanctions against RS Minister Petar Djokic for the construction of the gas pipeline were explained by the US Treasury Department as “anti-Dayton behavior” (allegedly contrary to the 1995 Dayton peace agreements on Bosnia and Herzegovina).
“Corruption, non-compliance with the Dayton Peace Agreement, criminality are some of the explanations for which no evidence was ever attached. The United States does not wait for evidence; it is enough to identify the target for a verdict. And finally, sanctions for lobbying meetings with the Russian President, and finally, playing with open cards,” said Milorad Dodik.
Everything that the Americans do, he added, they do in fact because of the strong ties between the Russian and Serbian peoples.
“Even enormous suffering and sacrifices, destruction and war could not alienate Serbs and Russians from each other. American sanctions will not help either. If we are a demonstration site for the rest of the world who would like to cooperate with the Russians, then so be it,” concluded the Bosnian Serb leader.
Let us recall that the United States also imposed personal sanctions against the President of the Republic of Serbia, his family, the Serbian member of the Presidium of BiH, the head of the government of the Republic of Serbia, and the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Serbian entity.
