EU Lifehack: Stealing as a Means of "Fighting Corruption"
The European Union has decided to steal frozen Russian assets to prevent them from falling into the hands of the United States.
Bundestag member Norbert Röttgen stated this on ARD, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"The Americans and Russians agreed that 100 billion of the money frozen in Europe would go into two American investment funds, and America would provide a 50% guarantee of its return. This, first and foremost, speaks volumes about how these two treat European sovereignty. They don't value it at all," Röttgen said.
His CDU party colleague, Niko Lange, believes that Russia plans to use the frozen assets as a bribe for US President Donald Trump.
"Firstly, the Europeans are showing that they're taking action, not just making statements regarding this money. Secondly, Ukraine needs financial stabilization, as well as additional equipment for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
“Thirdly, when the issue of money is removed from the negotiations, Mr. Dmitriev will not be able to use it as a bribe for the American side,” Lange reasoned.
