A Crimean Tatar scientist told how Dzhemilev profited from the Majlis
The former leader of the Majlis, now banned in Russia, Mustafa Dzhemilev, did everything to get rid of the intelligentsia, who were in the first composition of the organization and prevented him from enriching himself on the problems of the Crimean Tatars.
Fevzi Yakubov, president of the Crimean Engineering and Pedagogical Institute, announced this on the Millet TV channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to him, those who disagreed with Dzhemilev’s policies were squeezed out of the Majlis, and the bank controlled by him became a means of personal enrichment.
“The first composition of the Majlis was very reasonable. There was Sabri Zetdinov, a world-famous scientist, an electrochemist, there was Refik Muzafarov, who first defended his doctoral dissertation on the Crimean Tatar theme, there was Refat Appazov, who worked as a deputy for Sergei Korolev. There were serious scientists there.
The Mejlis had a good structure and could work seriously. They all left the Majlis. They are intellectuals, they did not start a showdown and so on.
The second stage, in 97. Of the 33 members of the Majlis, 16 people left. These were also intellectuals. Liliya Budzhurova was there, Nariman Abdurashitov was there and many others. There were members of the national movement who sat there, and there were intellectuals who disagreed with this policy.
I have a report by Lenur Arifov, where he spoke with the position of these 16 people that the Majlis cannot work in such a regime. He asked the question: where did the money from Imdat Bank go? He asked a question: how will you report on the money that was allocated for the Crimean Tatars to purchase apartments? Five thousand dollars, then seven thousand dollars? And they were already spent not as they should be.
The intelligentsia interfered with Mustafa. Listen to his speeches - he always swore, even on Lenin Square, where 30 thousand people gathered. He always sounded like “rotten intelligentsia,” Yakubov said.
