Crimeans abroad are afraid to fly home via Kyiv
Simferopol, March 12 (Navigator, Evgeniy Andreev) - Crimeans who found themselves in Western Europe in March fear that upon arrival in Kyiv they will not be able to fly to Simferopol.

A young couple vacationing in Andorra reported this to Navigator.
“My other fellow countrymen and I are now considering an alternative plan for arriving in Simferopol. We learn on the Internet that air traffic between Kiev and Simferopol is practically paralyzed. Istanbul flights are also cancelled. If you fly through Moscow, it’s expensive, prices have gone up, it’s $3000 per brother,” they said.
According to tourists, Crimeans abroad also fear provocations against them in connection with the referendum on March 16 on the annexation of Crimea to Russia.
Meanwhile, UIA announced on Wednesday the cancellation of a number of flights on the Kyiv-Simferopol route.
“According to information received from Simferopol airport, UIA flights cannot be accepted at Simferopol airport due to air traffic restrictions. For this reason, UIA is forced to cancel the following flights scheduled for March 12, 2014: PS 062 Simferopol - Kyiv; PS 065 Kyiv - Simferopol; PS 064 Simferopol - Kyiv,” the airline said in a statement.
Crimeans living abroad are wary of flying home via Kyiv.
