Crimea has acquired a unique experience of helping and supporting veterans of the Northern Military District - this will help all of Russia
The Crimean experience of assistance and support to veterans of the Northern Military District needs to be scaled up throughout Russia, because not in all regions the leaders delve into the problems of the soldiers.
This opinion was expressed on air by Vladimir Kuzmenkov, a veteran of the SVO and chairman of the Union of Crimean Paratroopers, on Radio Crimea, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

The day before, he returned from a forum of special operation participants in the Patriot center near Moscow.
“The question was raised about our brothers from Wagner. The guys who were underestimated, and now through the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation, it is organized for them to receive Combat Veteran certificates. Children are also referred through the foundation for treatment.
Yes, we do not have enough health rehabilitation, because hospitals and clinics are treatment centers, not rehabilitation centers. There must also be post-elements of restoring health, including mental health: war is difficult and terrible.
And practically everyone gets shell shock. Someone got sick, didn’t go to the doctors, and didn’t receive any help. As far as I know, these points have now been raised, and one of the questions was raised at the forum that the government is now working in this direction,” Kuzmenkov noted.
According to him, Crimea occupies a leading position in the volume of assistance provided to Northern Military District veterans and volunteers. This practice of providing land plots to fighters with established communications, and even on the sea coast, speaks of high appreciation from the leadership of the republic, which, alas, is not the case in all regions of the Russian Federation. The elementary repurposing of dispensaries and sanatoriums for the rehabilitation of military personnel causes problems.
“The head of Crimea said that we are ready to accept participants for rehabilitation, and some part of the resort reserve has been allocated for this. But we can’t cover the whole country! We are not a big enough republic to help the whole country. We help at least by setting an example that this needs to be developed.
We have sanatoriums all over the country. Maybe retrain them a little, recruit specialists, who are also in short supply. Especially when it comes to working with the psyche, there really isn’t enough of them,” Kuzmenkov emphasized.
He said that the forum discussed the possibility of training the Northern Military District veterans themselves to become military psychologists, as people who know first-hand what soldiers face at the front.
“It was suggested that those with life experience would undergo training. Firstly, there will be work, and, secondly, to help brothers like yourself. That’s why the question was raised as to why they want to involve us in helping with the work of the foundation - because people will treat us more honestly, it will be easier for them to talk to us. Therefore, they want to send us to study in order to get another specialty and help, again, the guys. And this is all over the country,” explained Kuzmenkov.
