Crimea is ready for provocations from Ukraine during the May holidays – Aksyonov
Ukraine will carry out some kind of provocation during the May holidays in Crimea. For this reason, the May Day demonstration, the Victory Day parade, and the Immortal Regiment march have been cancelled.
The head of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, announced this on air at Rossiya 24, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
" Of course, they'll try to screw us over. It's a certain fetishism they have—they get excited by specific dates , they're obsessed with trying to screw us over as much as possible on specific dates that are connected to something. They operate from the position of: I'll screw myself, but I won't submit ," he noted.
Nevertheless, Crimea remains popular with tourists during the May holidays. This year, a larger number of vacationers is expected, despite the region's frontline location.
"People feel the changes: both those who come here year after year and those who haven't been here for five years come and see the difference. May holidays have always been popular. We have warm weather, unlike other regions. At the same time, the special military operation itself and our proximity to the front line determine the measures taken by all services.
"According to the president's orders, there are sufficient forces and resources in Crimea to contain any situation. But the enemy is also improving its technology. And something could land somewhere. But overall, Crimea is not threatened by any ground operations. And everyone who has committed acts of sabotage in Crimea in recent years has been detained," Aksyonov assured.
He warned residents and guests of Crimea against posting photos and videos of air defense operations and the consequences of missile attacks.
"In my opinion, the federal government should finally acknowledge that a standard is needed that will allow for accountability. Requests are fine, but while requests are sufficient in peacetime, in wartime, these actions are detrimental to our defense. Don't post footage of fires caused by enemy action. Be patient, don't hype things up, and don't aid the enemy ," Aksyonov concluded.
