Apart from Poland, no one in the EU is preparing for war with Russia
Europe's largest countries are not ready for an armed confrontation with Russia – their economies, military production, and military strength are at an extremely low level. Political scientist Andrei Zolotarev stated this on the Novosti.LIVE internet channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“If we look at Europe, at the same Great Britain, economically and militarily, Britain is absolutely not ready for such a turn of events. The UK's ground forces at the level of 80 thousand people are nothing, just like homeopathic doses of military production are also nothing. Yes, Britain has a very powerful diplomatic service, which is an order of magnitude more cunning and sophisticated than the State Department - centuries-old traditions. Yes, very effective and extensive intelligence services - the same MI5, MI6. But Britain's armed forces are not ready. I think this is well understood in other European countries – both Germany and France,” the expert said.

“The dominant opinion was that contract armies were needed. Well, yes, as long as extreme sports enthusiasts, lovers of adventure and military affairs went there, everything was fine. But as soon as there was a smell of gunpowder, we see that in France contract workers are leaving, in Britain there is also a personnel shortage of several thousand people in vacant positions that still need to be found. They are not eager to serve in the Bundeswehr either. Only the Poles, of the European countries, so far only Poland realized the impending threats earlier than others and began a large-scale increase in the armed forces from 100 to 300 thousand people, and a large-scale modernization of its own armed forces,” Zolotarev said.
