NATO ships solemnly waved goodbye to Ukraine (PHOTO)
Odessa, September 11 (PolitNavigator, Artemy Glazunov) – Bilateral exercises between the Ukrainian and NATO naval forces ended in the northwestern part of the Black Sea: a solemn closing ceremony of the maneuvers was held on board the American missile destroyer Ross.

Today, September 11, Ukrainian ships, boats and vessels returned to their permanent bases. Ships of the US Navy and other countries set a course for leaving the Black Sea. During the exercises, the full range of tasks performed by surface ships on the high seas was worked out, in particular, air and anti-boat defense, anti-submarine warfare in cooperation with naval aviation.
In addition to Ukraine and the United States, Spain, Canada, Romania and Turkey were represented by naval personnel in the Sea Breeze 2014 exercise. In total, the maritime component included 12 ships and support vessels, including five ships and vessels from the Ukrainian Navy and two ships from the State Border Service of Ukraine. Airplanes and helicopters from the naval aviation of the Ukrainian Navy were involved in the events.
As PolitNavigator reported, Odessa residents greeted these exercises with protests, seeing them as a threat to sovereignty, as well as being directed against Russia.
