Konstantinov promised free issuance of Russian passports in the event of the annexation of Crimea to the Russian Federation
Simferopol, March 13 (Navigator, Astra Yazyka) – Residents of Crimea will receive Russian passports for free if, following the results of the all-Crimean referendum on March 16, a decision is made to annex the republic to Russia. A migration service will also appear in Crimea.

As a Navigator correspondent reports, the speaker of the Supreme Council of Crimea, Vladimir Konstantinov, told reporters about this.
According to him, all costs associated with replacing passports in the event of the annexation of Crimea to the Russian Federation will be covered by the republican budget.
“The procedure for issuing passports will be free, the budget autonomy will cover all costs,” Konstantinov noted.
He recalled that Ukraine and Russia have interstate agreements on many issues, and all internal regulatory documents are linked to Russian ones.
“Therefore, I’m sure there will be no problems,” Konstantinov assured. “A migration service will be created, and after the referendum it will answer all questions about the issuance of passports.”
In his opinion, two passports will be in circulation in the republic for a long time - Ukrainian and Russian, and the issuance of passports will be carried out very quickly.
