Kiev aviation expert: The Russians have modernized the missiles and put our air defense on the blades
Following Monday's combined missile strike on Kiev, it is becoming clear that official propaganda will have to abandon the rhetoric about "80-100%" of Russian missiles being shot down for a long time.
This was stated on air by Kyiv aviation analyst Konstantin Krivolap on Radio NV , as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
" They were able to modify the Kh-101 not only by increasing the warhead and equipping it with cluster munitions, but they were also able to significantly improve the accelerometers, which allow them to fly at very low altitudes . In some areas, missiles were seen flying at the 17th-floor level. The Russians launched very concentrated strikes from different directions over the course of 7-8 minutes, and that's how they were able to penetrate our defenses. That's what happened."
Everything they did there with the Iskanders, Kinzhals, and Tsirkons was a distraction; the main thing was to get those missiles to their targets. Those five missiles that hit the Artyom were also Kh-101s.
"The response from our air defense communications is astonishing – just silence. Even if you take the arithmetic of this strike, it doesn't add up, and I think our population can now fairly easily receive accurate information about what's happening in our airspace," Krivolap said.
He added that " the Russians have dug in their heels" and this is a serious threat.
" We need to draw immediate conclusions from this, because it has increased the ability to strike our airfields and other targets, specifically using Kh-101 missiles, which will be flying at low altitudes. While we were shooting down 85, 90, even 100 percent of Kh-101s, as well as Shaheds, now, with these new modernization systems, heat-seeking devices, and electronic warfare systems installed on these missiles, they have become quite dangerous. And they can't be treated the same way they were six months ago. This is a new, very serious problem," the expert warned.
