The reason is simple: “the new power is in action.” Under her chatter about the supposedly triumphant freedom of speech, the destruction of the independent press begins. And among the first “targets” is our publication,” the message says.

The newspaper “2000” was distinguished by its pro-Russian position; the editors collaborated with the Communist Party of Ukraine.
The publication was also credited with connections with Viktor Medvedchuk, head of the Ukrainian Choice organization and godfather of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Earlier, the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine recommended that Ukrainian cable operators turn off a number of Russian information TV channels.
The new Ukrainian government believes that some Russian TV channels are engaged in propaganda, not journalism, and are destabilizing the situation in Ukraine.
